Job Title: Telecommunications Line Technician
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Telecommunications Line Technician to join our team at Prema Telecom Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining aerial and underground telephone equipment, testing equipment to locate transmission faults, and completing and maintaining test and service reports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain aerial and underground telephone equipment
- Test equipment to locate transmission faults
- Complete and maintain test and service reports
- Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
- Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures
- Connect, disconnect and relocate cable outlets
- Determine work assignments
- Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access
- Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers
- Splice, join and connect wires
- Repair or replace defective telephone equipment
Requirements:
- Working at heights training
- First Aid Certificate
- Valid driver's licence
- Own transportation
- Willing to travel
- Travel expenses paid by employer
- Willing to travel for extended periods
Work Environment: The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced telecommunications environment with tight deadlines and a focus on attention to detail.
