Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager Compliance to join our team at BMO. As a key member of our Compliance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our business operations are in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and administration of our compliance program, ensuring that it remains current and aligned with our Compliance Program.
  • Coordinate and perform risk assessment, monitoring, testing, and surveillance activities to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
  • Work with business groups and internal partners to ensure regulatory, corporate, and fiduciary obligations are met, and provide advice on implications of new regulatory developments or internal products.
  • Identify and implement appropriate actions to mitigate risks, and develop and maintain compliance information for analysis and reporting.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and developments, and maintain functional and regulatory expertise specific to our business groups.
  • Contribute to business results by providing oversight and making recommendations that significantly impact our ability to monitor regulatory compliance programs, minimize operational risk, and align with regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • Typically 8+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Recognized compliance certificate or equivalent preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of consumer protection regulations and related marketing and advertising guidelines.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, relationship management, and project management skills.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience, and industry knowledge.
