Project Overview:

Bechtel Infrastructure, in collaboration with key partners, has been designated as the Delivery Partner for the Ontario Line Subway Project. This initiative encompasses the design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure and rail systems for 15 stations along a new alignment in Toronto, Ontario.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Cost Analyst who will play a pivotal role in cost engineering and financial analysis for a significant project within the Ontario Line Program. This position involves supporting organizational and administrative functions while addressing complex cost engineering challenges with innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will possess the right to work in Canada and have experience managing estimating departments for large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of cost data and analysis for various project components under the guidance of a Lead Cost Engineer.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training sessions on relevant topics.
  • Develop and apply unit rates for quantity takeoffs in collaboration with contractors.
  • Prepare budgets in accordance with established standards and procedures.
  • Coordinate monthly invoicing and cost reporting activities.
  • Support the development and implementation of cost recording and reporting standards.
  • Provide financial reporting and trend analysis with oversight.
  • Assist in creating project codes of accounts and recommend necessary modifications.
  • Investigate requirements for estimating and cost control data.
  • Collect and categorize cost engineering data for analysis.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Management, with 5-8 years of relevant experience; or 9-12 years of project controls experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience in statistical analysis and proficiency in technical processes, engineering drawings, and financial reporting.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using computers for work processes.
  • Basic understanding of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management principles acquired through experience or specialized training.
