We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Sexual Assault Service at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre.
About the RoleThis is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong commitment to providing high-quality care to survivors of sexual assault. As a Registered Nurse in this position, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care, including crisis counseling, medical examination, and forensic evidence collection.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and provide care to survivors of sexual assault, including emotional and physical support.
- Collaborate with the Sexual Assault Service physician to collect forensic evidence and provide medical care.
- Provide crisis counseling and support to survivors, including referrals to community-based advocacy groups.
- Document all interactions and interventions in a thorough and accurate manner.
- Participate in health education and community outreach initiatives.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing.
- Current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Minimum three (3) years of clinical experience in related areas, such as gynecology, obstetrics, STD, public health, emergency, and women's health.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
