We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse/Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department at BC Children's Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care to children and youth with complex medical and mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emergency care to pediatric patients, including resuscitation and stabilization, and pediatric trauma nursing care.
  • Work collaboratively as part of an inter-professional team and within an evidence-based trauma-informed model of care.
  • Perform primary and secondary nursing assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of real and potential health problems in patients.
  • Administer prescribed treatments and medications according to policy.
  • Provide general and crisis counseling to patients and their families, including brief crisis intervention and referrals to community resources.
Requirements:
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Emergency Department RNs require 1+ year of recent, related clinical experience in pediatrics or an Emergency Department setting.
  • Mental Health – Emergency Department RN/RPNs require 3 years' recent related experience working with children, adolescents, and families on an inpatient child/adolescent mental health unit.
