Position Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced Controller to oversee our accounting and financial operations, particularly within a manufacturing context. This detail-oriented and systematic individual will manage the entire accounting cycle, ensuring operational efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and enforce accounting policies and procedures that align with best practices for effective departmental management.
  • Engage in financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
  • Provide leadership and support to the team, ensuring ongoing communication and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with analysts to develop the annual corporate budget and assist managers in its execution and oversight.
  • Support operational teams in projects that require accounting insights and data.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting standards and administrative protocols.
  • Monitor prepaid expenses and accrued liabilities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of various tax documents, including GST and QST reports.
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and related depreciation.
  • Oversee accounts payable, invoicing, and accounts receivable processes.
  • Generate and present various analytical reports on a monthly basis.
  • Supervise the preparation of the external audit documentation and serve as a key resource during the audit process.
  • Validate company financial records and prepare statutory financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Contribute to the development of financial performance metrics (KPIs).
  • Act as a representative of the company to both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficient in setting objectives and performance measurement criteria.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in accounting or related field.
  • Active member of the Order of CPAs of Quebec.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Fluency in both English and French, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in various accounting software and information technologies.
