As a member of our Engineering Services team at Valmet, you will have the opportunity to apply your skills and experience to support the performance of large-scale papermaking equipment at our customers' facilities across North America.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop electrical and fluid schematics, machine control, and human machine interface software for Valmet equipment.
  • Test software modifications and participate in start-ups, and service calls.
  • Direct and be responsible for project engineering work of complete projects at customer sites, including:
    • Developing machine code in PLC or DNA system, as well as Human Machine Interface (HMI), software to ensure equipment functions as specified.
    • Providing technical support for project meetings with customers.
    • Deliver technical training to customers' operators and/or maintenance personnel as needed.
    • Make return trips to the site to eliminate warranty issues or address customer needs.

Requirements:

  • A two or four-year degree in Engineering, Papermaking Technology, programming, or a related field.
  • Three to five years' experience in a technical role within the papermaking industry or a related technical field.
  • Understanding of PLC programming and papermaking machinery and hydraulic systems a plus, but not required.
