Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Gameplay Animator to join our team and contribute to the development of our next-generation games. As a Gameplay Animator, you will be responsible for creating high-quality animations that bring our characters to life and enhance the overall gaming experience.
Key Responsibilities- Create character-specific animations, including gameplay animations, using our Control Rig toolset in Unreal Engine.
- Develop animations from initial concept to implementation in Unreal Engine 5 using our animation blueprint system.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Design, Technical Animation, and Technical Design, to drive the style and feel of best-in-class animation.
- Participate in dailies-style critique environment to refine animations and gameplay feel, ensuring optimal solutions and addressing basic issues as they arise.
- Refine animations and gameplay feel as needed to achieve the best quality animation within the project timeline.
- Expertise in gameplay animation, with a strong background in stylized keyframe animation and a proven track record of delivering exaggerated gameplay character animations.
- Maintain a detailed understanding of current and emerging animation technologies, including Unreal Engine, Motion Matching, State machines, and State graphs.
- Passion for gaming and a strong understanding of game design principles, player psychology, and user experience fundamentals.
- Knowledge of game, narrative design, and 3Cs as it pertains to gameplay animation.
- A strong animation reel showcasing expertise in key-framed character and creature animation.
- Relevant experience in both gameplay and cinematic animation.
- Good instincts for realistic and stylized motions.
- Familiarity with Maya and Unreal Engine 5 art pipeline.
- Understanding of modeling, skinning, and rigging.
- Experience working with Motion Capture is a plus.
- Experience with working on hard surface or vehicle animation is a plus.
