Job Summary

Safely operate a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on transfer routes, ensuring a clean and safe vehicle and adhering to Occupational Health & Safety and Ministry of Transportation requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Operate vehicle in accordance with company expectations and local, provincial, and federal regulations.
  2. Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report).
  3. Cover shifts as needed for trash, recycling, and compost, communicating with Route Manager and Dispatch as required.
  4. Participate in scheduled training, briefings, and meetings, and work closely with Route Managers to improve route efficiencies.
  5. Notify Route Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage, and communicate customer requests or issues to Dispatch or Route Manager.
  6. Position containers on customer properties in an upright position, ensuring lids are properly replaced and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic.
  7. Follow route assignments throughout the day and complete all documentation when checking-in at the end of the route.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Hold a current DZ or Class 3 license or higher with an air-brake endorsement, and have an acceptable driving record.
