Position Overview:
As a key member of the People Services team, the HR Advisor plays a crucial role in supporting the operational and advisory functions of Human Resources. This position is integral to fostering effective relationships with Supervisors, Superintendents, and Employees at the Gahcho Kué Mine Site in the Northwest Territories.

Role Responsibilities:
The HR Advisor is responsible for delivering comprehensive People Relations Advisory support, ensuring an exceptional employee experience throughout all HR processes. Key responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with People Partners, HR Analysts, and Payroll to provide daily HR assistance.
  • Building strong relationships with supervisory teams to understand business needs and site-specific culture.
  • Supporting various People agenda projects, including culture and organizational change initiatives.
  • Driving change management processes and ensuring compliance with HR policies.
  • Providing first-level HR advice to supervisors and employees regarding key HR processes.
  • Addressing employee inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Consulting on performance management and drafting related documentation.
  • Managing absenteeism paperwork and ensuring accurate payroll entries.
  • Monitoring HR policies and recommending updates to maintain compliance.
  • Utilizing people data to provide insights and support decision-making.
  • Exemplifying the desired behaviors and service excellence within the workplace.
  • Coordinating with payroll to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.
  • Maintaining documentation related to HR activities to meet legal standards.
  • Assisting in achieving HR objectives in collaboration with HR Advisors and the HR Manager.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A University Degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
  • Three to five years of HR experience, preferably in the mining sector.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with excellent communication abilities.
  • The capacity to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Effective time management skills to navigate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with HR systems such as Success Factors and Ceridian Dayforce is advantageous.

This full-time position offers a hybrid work schedule, balancing in-office and remote work while adhering to a standard work week.
