Position Overview: The Financial Operations Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting Mogo's clientele, customer success teams, and Portfolio Managers to ensure exceptional data integrity and a superior customer experience. This position involves managing client onboarding, facilitating accurate fund transfers, and executing a variety of daily operational tasks and projects. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to build a career in financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster positive relationships with stakeholders by addressing inquiries promptly, comprehending business needs, and upholding professionalism.
- Transform data into comprehensible reports and effectively communicate findings with the team.
- Establish client investment policies and models within the internal Portfolio Management system.
- Oversee the valuation of investment funds, as well as subscription and redemption processes.
- Manage account transfers, both incoming and outgoing.
- Provide active support to compliance and operations teams on various process enhancement initiatives.
- Identify and escalate irregular activities or issues promptly, assisting in the formulation of corrective actions.
- Analyze investment processes, workflows, and systems to pinpoint areas for improvement and increased efficiency.
- Assist in fulfilling information requests for both internal and external audits.
- Support and/or lead special projects and additional duties as assigned.
- Offer training and guidance to team members and junior analysts regarding operational processes, tools, and best practices.
- Collaborate with external partners and internal departments to investigate and swiftly resolve reconciliation discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- Highly organized and capable of working independently in a manual environment.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups (knowledge of VBA or Python coding is a plus).
- Eagerness and ability to learn new software and technologies.
- Demonstrated mindset for continuous process improvement and a positive team-oriented attitude.
- Comfortable with routine tasks as well as unstructured projects.
- Proficiency in both English and French is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Experience in an investment firm, financial sector, or similar fintech environment.
- Knowledge of investment funds accounting.
- Experience in (Funds) Operations.
