Concrete Surface Finisher

We are seeking a skilled Cement Finisher to join our team at Curbside Construction Ltd. as a key member of our construction crew.
Key Responsibilities- Surface Preparation: Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement to ensure a smooth finish.
- Compaction and Finishing: Operate power vibrators to compact concrete and level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification.
- Finishing Techniques: Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Quality Control: Inspect and ensure high-quality finishes on all concrete surfaces.
- Training and Development: Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on best practices and techniques.
- Maintenance and Repair: Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
- Documentation and Planning: Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate and efficient completion of tasks.
- Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience, or equivalent experience.
- Physical Demands: Physically demanding role requiring bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, and gloves are required.
- Work Environment: 35 to 45 hours per week, with a permanent work term and English as the primary language of communication.
