Veterinary Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Specialist to join our team at Gladys Pet Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to our furry patients and their owners.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Treat Medical Conditions: Conduct thorough physical examinations and laboratory tests to diagnose diseases and abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks.
- Prescribe and Administer Medication: Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery as needed.
- Provide Preventative Care: Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases, and advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
- Lead and Train Staff: Hire and train staff, including animal health technologists and animal care workers, to ensure our team is equipped to provide the highest level of care.
- Perform Routine and Emergency Exams: Conduct routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations to ensure the health and well-being of our patients.
- Provide a Range of Veterinary Services: Offer a range of veterinary services, including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia, to meet the needs of our patients and their owners.
- Education: A degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry is required.
- Work Setting: Experience working in a veterinary clinic is preferred.
- Personal Qualities: Excellent oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential.
