About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at St Serbian Orthodox Church. As a Custodian, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our building, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, and clean floors and stairs to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Empty trash cans and recycling bins regularly to prevent odors and pests
  • Wash windows, walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and tidy appearance
  • Perform safety and security checks to ensure the building is secure and free from hazards
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens to maintain a beautiful and welcoming environment
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a clean and hygienic environment
  • Work with minimal supervision to demonstrate independence and self-motivation
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safe access to the building
Requirements
  • Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers and other necessary equipment
  • Power lawn mowers for lawn maintenance
  • Security system for building security
  • Criminal record check for security clearance
Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Repetitive tasks may be required
  • Physically demanding work may be required
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling may be required
  • Up to 23 kg (50 lbs) may be lifted
