Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Co-ordinate Activities

Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of staff who prepare and portion food, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Train and Develop Staff

Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures, and provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.

Manage Inventory and Supplies

Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation, and ensure that all inventory is managed effectively to minimize waste and optimize profitability.

Ensure Quality and Safety

Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, and that all health and safety protocols are followed to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

Manage Budget and Reports

Prepare budget and cost estimates, and maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.

Communicate with Customers

Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, and ensure that all customer feedback is addressed promptly and effectively.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience

Secondary (high) school graduation certificate, and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a food service establishment.

Work Environment

Noisy, odours, wet/damp, hot, and outdoors work environment.

Work Setting

Food service establishment, various locations, fast food outlet or concession, and restaurant.

Physical Demands

Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and physically demanding.

Personal Suitability

Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, flexibility, and team player.

Language

English is the primary language of communication in this role.
