Job Title: Dean of Faculty of Law

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Dean of Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary.

Job Summary

The Dean of Faculty of Law will be responsible for leading the faculty in its academic and administrative endeavors. This includes overseeing the development and implementation of academic programs, managing faculty and staff, and promoting the faculty's research and community engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the faculty in its academic and administrative endeavors, including the development and implementation of academic programs.
  • Manage faculty and staff, including recruitment, hiring, and performance evaluation.
  • Promote the faculty's research and community engagement initiatives, including securing funding and partnerships.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the faculty's reputation and visibility.
  • Collaborate with other faculties and departments to advance the university's goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree in Law or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in academic administration, preferably in a faculty of law.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate faculty and staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
