Job Summary

Skyhawk Transport Services Ltd. is seeking a skilled Truck Driver - Logistics Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials safely and efficiently across various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation and Delivery: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment, performing preventive maintenance and emergency roadside repairs as needed.
  • Logistics and Documentation: Receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, and ensure accurate documentation, including bills of lading and driver logbooks.
  • Cargo Handling: Load and unload goods, ensure the safety and security of cargo, and transport and handle dangerous goods in accordance with regulations.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain accurate records, perform administrative tasks, and contribute to a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Certifications: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and a valid Driver's License (Class 1 or A).
  • Physical Demands: Ability to handle heavy loads, work in a physically demanding environment, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with varying workloads and physical demands.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: 40 to 60 hours per week, with flexibility to adapt to changing work demands.
