Job Summary

The Health Care Aide is a vital member of the home care team at Qualicare Edmonton Northwest, working under the supervision of the Care Coordinator to provide personalized care services to clients with high medical needs. This role requires a compassionate and caring individual who can build strong relationships with clients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care and hygiene, ensuring clients maintain their dignity and comfort
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks to meet clients' dietary needs
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment
  • Accompany clients on outings and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life
  • Assist with medication reminders and administration, as needed
  • Transport clients safely and comfortably to appointments and activities
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, promoting their overall well-being
  • Document and chart client care plans, ensuring accurate and timely updates

Qualifications

  • Health Care Aide Certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurse, nursing student) and Alberta HCA Directory #
  • Current CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain
  • Negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
  • Active Driver's License and ability to travel to the area
  • Access to reliable transportation
