About the Role

The Chief Practice and Technology Officer (CPTO) is a senior leadership position responsible for the strategic oversight and management of BBA Consultants' engineering practices, technological systems, innovation, quality, and continuous improvement efforts. This role combines leadership in engineering methodologies and operational technological advancements to drive efficiency and excellence across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technology and practice strategy aligned with the firm's goals and objectives.
  • Spearhead the alignment of BBA Consultants' technological resources, expertise, and practices with its strategic goals and objectives.
  • Develop, implement, and continually improve practice standards to enhance service delivery, client satisfaction, and business performance.
  • Ensure practice areas meet industry standards and comply with regulations.
  • Integrate advanced technology and software into engineering to boost efficiency, innovation, and quality, speed of delivery, and quality of deliverables.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and professional development within the teams, across all regions, and practices.
  • Lead the adoption of new technologies and methods.
  • Establish and manage an innovation portfolio.
  • Build partnerships with external organizations.
  • Design and implement educational strategies aligned with BBA Consultants' strategic goals and objectives.
  • Manage internal and external training programs.
  • Ensure client satisfaction.
  • Manage quality systems.
  • Implement a zero-cost overhead structure for the firm, while tools, software, training, and expertise are billed to clients.
  • Collaborate with other senior executives to align best practice goals with overall business objectives.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Report on progress and outcomes to the executive team and board of directors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant technical program.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including the engineering sector.
  • Ability to understand and challenge current paths or plans.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing management and operational technology functions.
  • Technical savvy with a deep understanding of engineering development methodologies and emerging trends.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and launching innovative, profitable products and solutions.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable solutions and technology strategies.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to motivate people and lead change.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align services and technology initiatives with overall business goals.
  • Fluent English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels.
