About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Manager, IT Applications to join our team at BBA Consultants. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for leading and growing the teams that oversee applications within our IT department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead the work of all applications teams.
  • Establish, execute, and monitor progress on all application initiatives.
  • Define scope and cost estimates for required work and project deadlines for internal clients in specific areas, including Operations, Finance, Business Development, Human Resources, and Project Management.
  • Lead application-related services by managing the corporate application portfolio, including licenses, contract renewals, versions, and rollouts.
  • Share knowledge and experience with others.
  • Promote collaboration and innovation by staying up-to-date with new trends in workplace technologies.
  • Oversee the implementation of the DevOps methodology within various product teams.
  • Establish relevant performance indicators and use them to monitor and optimize work.
Requirements
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills (English and French) to explain concepts and digital technologies to business leaders and business concepts to technologists.
  • Strong leadership skills, including team building, achieving consensus, balancing team and individual responsibilities, and achieving goals by collaborating with people outside your authority.
  • Experience in planning and implementing strategic technology solutions and formulating and updating policies.
  • Ability to work with other business units to influence and implement changes to meet shared goals.
  • Ability to effectively guide and support changes affecting employees, processes, and technology in a fast-paced, complex operational environment.
  • Courage to suggest or support bold ideas.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work with many teams.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, information technology, information management, or other relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Five to eight years of work experience, preferably in business or IT management and ideally a combination of both.
  • Three to five years of experience in team management.
  • Ability to promote innovation programs as a catalyst for organizational change.
  • Ability to travel to work at other BBA offices.
  • Asset: knowledge of cloud computing.
  • Asset: knowledge of an ERP system (Deltek Maconomy, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Asset: knowledge of the concept of data warehousing and business intelligence.
  • Asset: solid network of application suppliers.
