Job Summary

The Speech Language Pathologist will serve school-aged and pre-school children with developmental and/or neurological disabilities, providing multi-disciplinary assessment, parent-mediated and individual and group child interventions, and community consultation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's communication and speech skills
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address communication and speech delays and disorders
  • Provide parent-mediated interventions to support children's communication and speech development
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to children and families
  • Consult with community agencies and professionals to promote best practices in communication and speech development
Requirements
  • CASLPO registration
  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Hanen certification, including It Takes Two to Talk
  • Minimum 2-3 years pediatric experience working with preschoolers with special needs
  • Comprehensive knowledge of communication development, preschool communication disorders, and neurological and/or developmental disabilities
  • Experience in augmentative communication
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills and ability to work independently
  • Valid driver's license and access to vehicle for travel in the community
  • Willingness to participate in criminal reference check
  • Fluency in French considered an asset
Working Conditions

The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to children and families. The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and will be expected to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
