Job Title: Part Time Professor, Power Engineering Technology

Georgian College is seeking a Part Time Professor to teach in the Power Engineering Technology program. As a faculty member, you will have the opportunity to share your passion for teaching and industry experience with students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver a wide variety of courses in the Power Engineering Technology program
  • Develop and deliver appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
  • Incorporate a variety of teaching/learning strategies to meet student needs
  • Evaluate student learning progress/academic achievement
  • Participate in program and college activities as required
  • Participate in program revision and renewal activities as required
  • Create and maintain a positive learning environment
Qualifications:
  • Successfully completed a postsecondary diploma/degree in a relevant field of study
  • At least 3 years related industry experience and training
  • Certification by Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) for Power Engineering 4th, 3rd, or 2nd class Operating Engineer
  • Previous teaching experience at a postsecondary level and/or adult training experience is an asset
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to contribute to and work in a positive team environment and to foster the same in students
  • Commitment to life-long learning
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
  • Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite and software related to the power engineering field
