Academic Faculty Member

Georgian College is seeking a qualified Professor to teach in the Power Engineering Technology program. The successful candidate will have a strong background in power engineering and experience in teaching at a post-secondary level.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a wide variety of courses in the Power Engineering Technology program
- Develop and deliver appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
- Incorporate a variety of teaching/learning strategies to meet student needs
- Evaluate student learning progress/academic achievement
- Participate in program and college activities as required
- Participate in program revision and renewal activities as required
- Create and maintain a positive learning environment
- Successfully completed a post-secondary diploma/degree in a relevant field of study that may include, but is not limited to, power engineering
- At least 3 years related industry experience and training
- Certification by Technical Standards & Safety Authority (TSSA) for Power Engineering 4th, 3rd, or 2nd class Operating Engineer
- Previous teaching experience at a post-secondary level and/or adult training experience is an asset
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to contribute to, and work in, a positive team environment and to foster the same in their students
- Commitment to life-long learning
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
- Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite and software related to the power engineering field
