Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Truck Shop Foreman/Mechanic to oversee the repair and maintenance operations of our fleet, ensuring optimal vehicle performance, safety, and compliance.
Compensation: Attractive sign-on bonus available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor the Fleet Maintenance team, providing direction and support.
- Manage work orders and allocate tasks to shop personnel effectively.
- Uphold high standards of quality and professionalism among Technicians and Apprentices.
- Maintain accurate vehicle records and repair logs using fleet management software.
Essential Skills:
- Strong time management abilities with a knack for multitasking and meeting deadlines.
- Self-driven with the capacity for analytical decision-making.
- Proficient in leading teams and communicating effectively.
- Adept at problem-solving and conflict resolution.
Work Environment:
- Fast-paced setting with strict deadlines.
- High volume of communication with customers and stakeholders.
- Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience.
- CITT certification is an asset.
- Completion of technical training or vocational education.
- Preferred: Class A Mechanic's License and Red Seal Certification.
- Level 3 apprentice or higher is acceptable.
- Valid driver's license required.
Technical Proficiencies:
- Familiarity with TruckMate System and RTA is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in report generation using Word and Excel.
- Strong typing and computer skills are essential.
