Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at Heidelberg Materials. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and supervise maintenance crews to maintain equipment and meet production requirements.
  • Oversee the work performed by maintenance crews and outside contractors to ensure completion in a timely and quality manner.
  • Determine training needs for employees and ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs.
  • Ensure compliance with plant rules, policies, and health and safety protocols during maintenance procedures.
  • Manage urgent or breakdown jobs to minimize downtime.
  • Provide development and motivation to direct reports, resulting in a reliable and competent workforce.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department to develop work schedules, equipment usage schedules, and procedures to meet overall plant goals.
  • Prepare material and labor estimates to develop project cost estimates and plant budgets.
  • Monitor the acquisition and use of materials to meet productivity and budgetary goals.
  • Maintain time, work order, material, equipment, and other mechanical shop records.
  • Participate in the supervisory maintenance on-call rotation program and be willing to work weekends and after hours for supervision of emergency repairs as needed.

Requirements

  • 5 years of mechanical repair and maintenance experience, ideally in a heavy industry setting.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others with or without direct authority.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP or other similar systems preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing environment with moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, elevated noise levels, and dusty conditions.
