Data Analyst Summer Co-op Opportunity

Elexicon Energy Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Analyst Summer Co-op to join our IT team. As a Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in providing technical assistance and support to our internal users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and contributing to various IT projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the service delivery team with daily tasks and ensure a professional and timely manner.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and PC builds to maintain a stable and consistent user experience.
  • Work with active directory and Entra AD to add, modify, and manage users, computers, and groups.
  • Assist with MS Intune MDM and test new functionality.
  • Maintain open and clear communications with all IT Team members.
  • Perform printer maintenance and prepare end-of-life equipment for e-waste.
Documentation and Data Profiling:
  • Contribute to the creation and testing of documentation for systems, processes, how-to guides, FAQs, and other documentation as required.
  • Update asset inventory spreadsheets and validate accuracy.
  • Participate in incident reporting and management.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate issue resolution.
  • Participate in project work as required.
Data Cleansing and Transformation:
  • Assist in developing and implementing data cleansing strategies and methodologies to address identified data quality issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand underlying factors and develop effective solutions to address and prevent data quality issues.
Reporting and Data Quality:
  • Document data quality issues, remediation steps, and outcomes for future reference and audit purposes.
  • Generate regular reports and dashboards to track data quality metrics, monitor progress, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of programming languages, including SQL (Python an advantage).
  • Working knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau or Power BI).
  • Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server and Oracle).
  • Understanding of data governance principles and practices.
  • Experience in conducting data profiling to assess and improve data quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey data quality insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, with a continuous learning mindset.
  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution.
