Position Overview

The role of a Building Maintenance Worker at THRIVE AUTO COLLISION involves ensuring the upkeep and functionality of the facility through various maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning Duties: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain a clean environment.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers regularly.
  • Window and Surface Cleaning: Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to enhance the appearance of the facility.
  • Repairs and Adjustments: Make minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, while coordinating with tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Contractor Liaison: Contact contractors for necessary repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Appliance Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances as needed.
  • Safety Checks: Conduct safety and security inspections throughout the premises.
  • Furniture Movement: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
  • General Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Bathroom Sanitation: Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to ensure hygiene.
  • Snow and Ice Removal: Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to maintain safety.
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is considered an asset.
Support Initiatives
  • Newcomer and Refugee Support: Engage with newcomers and/or refugees who have been displaced by conflict or natural disasters.
  • Youth Engagement: Provide training to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
