About the Role

Pacific Coast Community Resources is seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team. As a Community Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals living in staffed homes within their community.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure the rights and choices of the individuals we support are respected and advocate as needed.
  2. Build effective relationships with the people we support, their families, and community members.
  3. Develop and implement Personal Service Plans to empower individuals to be independent and self-determining.
  4. Participate in daily activities, including food preparation and light housekeeping duties, to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  5. Collaborate with the team to ensure excellent standards of care, health, and safety.

Requirements

  • Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in community social services, healthcare, or caregiving.
  • Current Emergency First Aid/CPR and Food Safe certificate.
  • Previous behaviour management course/training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, professionals, families, and community members.
  • Criminal record clearance for children and vulnerable adults.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status as per current Public Health Orders.
  • TB Test.
  • Moderate computer literacy.
