Job Title: Registered Practical Nurse, Neuromodulation

Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is seeking a skilled Registered Practical Nurse to join our Neuromodulation program. As a key member of our team, you will provide nursing and mental health services to patients receiving complex psychopharmacological interventions.

About the Role:

This Full-Time Registered Practical Nurse position involves assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and modifying therapeutic treatment strategies to meet patient goals. You will also provide point of care and assistance to physicians during ECT administration, deliver TMS treatment, and monitor patient response.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet patient needs
  • Collaborate with physicians to provide high-quality patient care
  • Deliver TMS treatment and monitor patient response
  • Provide health teaching to patients and significant others
  • Contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment through awareness of hospital policies and procedures
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Valid certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Valid IV and Phlebotomy certification
  • Peri-anaesthetic certification
Skills and Abilities:
  • Physical assessment and care requirements
  • Psychiatric nursing theory and practice
  • Forensic mental health knowledge
  • Medication practices and administration
  • Emergency patient care procedures
  • Interpersonal and analytical skills
