JOB OVERVIEW

The Research Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting Technical Leads and Research Managers while managing smaller client projects and engagements. This position involves a growing expertise in research methodologies, project oversight, and client engagement. The Research Analyst is responsible for contributing to the design, strategy, and execution of projects, fostering strong relationships with clients.

COMPETENCY

The ideal candidate will possess a strong focus on socio-economic impact assessment, demonstrating an understanding of assessment methodologies and community-based research approaches.

RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES

Technical Advising

  • Lead or assist in the design, strategy, and execution of small-scale consulting projects under the guidance of a Technical Lead or Research Manager.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads and Research Managers to provide robust technical expertise in research and community engagement.
  • Facilitate discussions with clients to clarify requirements and priorities regarding moderately complex financial and organizational matters.
  • Implement best practices in Indigenous research methodologies and community engagement, staying informed about emerging trends in the field.
  • Contribute to the development of deliverables for clients and external stakeholders.

Project Management

  • Support client engagements by effectively onboarding new clients, communicating project plans, and identifying changes in purpose, scope, or timeline.
  • Oversee the execution of smaller, multi-method projects, ensuring alignment with client expectations with guidance from Research Managers and Technical Leads.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads and Research Managers to develop and monitor project scope, plans, budgets, and schedules for successful delivery.
  • Ensure timely execution of tasks in accordance with project scope and timelines.
  • Manage information, data, and documentation in compliance with established procedures.
  • Mentor and support Researchers involved in project work.

Client Engagement

  • Represent the organization to clients and communities in technical meetings, under the supervision of the Technical Lead and Program Manager.
  • Coordinate activities with community partners and team members to design and implement projects effectively.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and clients through exceptional service and knowledge sharing.
  • Commit to regular travel, including visits to remote communities as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in research and community engagement.
  • Experience working with Indigenous Nations and communities is highly valued.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada is necessary.
