JOB OVERVIEW

The Research Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the Research Manager and Technical Lead, while also managing smaller client engagements. This position is integral to the design, strategy, and execution of various projects, leveraging expertise in research methodologies and project management. The Research Analyst is essential in fostering strong, accountable relationships with clients.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong focus on socio-economic impact assessment, demonstrating a thorough understanding of assessment methodologies and community-based research approaches.

RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES

Technical Advising

  • Lead or assist in the design, strategy, and execution of small-scale consulting projects under the guidance of a Technical Lead or Research Manager.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads and Research Managers to deliver robust technical expertise in research and community engagement.
  • Facilitate discussions with clients to clarify requirements and priorities concerning moderately complex financial and organizational matters.
  • Apply best practices in Indigenous research methodologies and engagement, staying abreast of emerging trends in the field.
  • Contribute to the development of deliverables for clients and external stakeholders.

Project Management

  • Guide client engagements by effectively onboarding new clients, communicating project plans, and identifying changes in purpose, scope, or timeline.
  • Oversee the execution of smaller, multi-method projects in alignment with client expectations, with mentorship from Research Managers and Technical Leads.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads and Research Managers to develop and monitor project scope, plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
  • Ensure timely execution of tasks in accordance with project scope and schedule.
  • Manage information, data, and documentation in compliance with established procedures.
  • Provide mentorship and support to Researchers involved in project work.

Client Engagement

  • Represent the organization to clients and communities in technical meetings, under the supervision of the Technical Lead and Program Manager.
  • Coordinate activities with community partners and team members to develop, design, and implement projects.
  • Foster and maintain partner and client relationships through exemplary service, knowledge sharing, and skills development.
  • Commit to regular travel, including visits to remote communities.

QUALIFICATIONS + EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Experience working with Indigenous Nations and communities is essential.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a Master's degree is highly valued.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada is mandatory.
