About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our team at Nanaimo Joe's Enterprise Ltd. as a key member of our culinary operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service.
    • Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to maintain a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
    • Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
  • Inventory and Supply Chain Management
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels.
    • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation to minimize waste and optimize costs.
  • Financial Management
    • Prepare budget and cost estimates to ensure accurate financial planning.
    • Monitor and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage to inform business decisions.
  • Customer Service
    • Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards to maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Reporting and Administration
    • Prepare and submit reports to management on kitchen operations, inventory, and financial performance.
    • Maintain accurate records of kitchen activities, including staff training and performance.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a kitchen supervisory role.
  • Work Environment
    • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
    • Physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Client focus and excellent oral communication skills.
    • Efficient interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
    • Flexibility and initiative to adapt to changing circumstances.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with a high level of noise, odors, and heat.
