Kitchen Operations Manager

Nanaimo Joe's Enterprise Ltd. is seeking a skilled Kitchen Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of quality and service, and leading a team of cooks and kitchen staff.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and implement efficient kitchen procedures to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including food preparation, portioning, and presentation.
- Train and develop kitchen staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Estimate and requisition food and kitchen supplies to ensure adequate inventory levels.
- Monitor and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage to optimize kitchen operations.
- Prepare and submit reports on kitchen performance, including food costs, labor costs, and quality control metrics.
- Collaborate with the chef and other kitchen staff to ensure seamless food preparation and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- 2 years of experience in a kitchen supervisory role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and quality control.
- Fast-paced kitchen environment with high volume of food preparation and service.
- Standing for extended periods, with frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Ability to work in a hot and noisy environment, with exposure to odors and other kitchen hazards.
- Client focus and excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with customers and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
- Efficient interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to adjust to changing kitchen conditions and priorities.
