Technical Game Architect

Cloud Chamber is seeking a Technical Designer to collaborate closely with our talented design team and tackle intricate technical challenges within our ambitious game development environment.
This role will serve as a vital bridge between engineering and game design, ensuring a unified approach to development. We need a highly adaptable individual, a true 'design acrobat' who can seamlessly balance the creative vision of an innovative game with the practical realities of performance and memory constraints.
As a Technical Designer at Cloud Chamber, you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the creation and maintenance of robust pipelines and tool suites, as well as developing and standardizing methodologies that support both general level design, world building, and unique gameplay encounters.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for multiple Editor features, effectively communicating across diverse teams and departments, including Core Technology, Design, and Narrative.
- Supporting designers in integrating their gameplay content seamlessly into the game world, ensuring optimal playability and performance.
- Collaborating closely with the engineering team to guarantee adherence to budget and technical limitations.
- Developing and maintaining comprehensive technical design and feature documentation to facilitate clear communication among team members and other departments.
- Championing best practices and guidelines within the engine, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Prototyping game content to refine desired tool requirements and rigorously test existing tools.
- Identifying potential production needs and actively contributing to the development of tools that enhance overall production efficiency.
- Taking ownership of pipelines and tools essential for design authoring.
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated proficiency with Unreal Engine, including Blueprint scripting, is essential.
- 2+ years of experience as a Technical Designer in AAA game development is highly preferred.
- A strong ability to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues encountered during game production is crucial.
- Exceptional communication, documentation, and organizational skills are paramount.
- A positive attitude, a willingness to learn, problem-solving aptitude, and a collaborative spirit are highly valued.
- Experience shipping projects using Unreal or a similar engine is a significant advantage.
- An engineering or design background is beneficial.
