Specifications Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled Specifications Coordinator to join our team at Diamond Schmitt Architects in Toronto. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical focus and a minimum of 5 years' experience in the development of technical documentation, including construction specifications.

The successful candidate will have well-rounded architectural experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a busy office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project teams and external specification writers to develop project-specific project manuals.
  • Conduct research and document materials, products, and construction methods.
  • Develop detailed architectural specifications for projects.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines and integrate their requirements.
  • Assist in preparing bid documents and review contractor bids.
  • Communicate with suppliers, manufacturers, and contractors.
  • Keep specifications up to date with code changes and industry standards.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or Architectural Engineering.
  • 5 years' experience in the development of technical documentation, including construction specifications.
  • Designation as a Registered Specification Writer or Certified Specification Practitioner is an advantage.
