MD Management Limited, a division of Scotia Wealth Management, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Financial Advisor to enhance our team.

In this role, you will report to the Regional Manager and play a vital part in the success of the MD Client Value Performance across Canada. Your focus will be on ensuring that individual goals, plans, and initiatives are effectively executed to align with the team's strategic objectives.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, internal policies, and procedures. As a Senior Financial Advisor, you will assist MD clients and their families in reaching their financial aspirations.

By collaborating with MD's Specialist Advisors, you will utilize your extensive experience and client-centric approach to develop comprehensive financial plans and tailored investment strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and cultivating new client opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Promoting a customer-focused culture to enhance client relationships and leverage broader Bank resources.
  • Facilitating a collaborative approach by referring clients to MD Private Investment Counsel, MD Private Trust, MD Insurance, and MD Banking Products.
  • Proactively addressing client needs in alignment with their financial situations and future goals.
  • Enhancing your knowledge of advanced financial planning concepts, including taxation, investment trends, and other relevant issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations to minimize risks and expenses.
  • Participating in seminars and information sessions, as well as implementing marketing strategies to promote investment programs and services.

It is essential to understand how the Bank's risk appetite and culture influence daily operations and decision-making.

We expect you to actively pursue efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles, ensuring the effectiveness of business controls related to operational, compliance, and conduct risks.

As a Senior Financial Advisor, you will take pride in your professional development and embrace opportunities to learn new tools and techniques.

Qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in providing financial advice within the financial services sector.
  • A university degree in business, commerce, or financial planning.
  • Possession of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation (mandatory for Quebec).
  • IIROC licensing as a Registered Representative (IIROC-RR), including completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH).
  • Life License (LLQP) and a commitment to fulfilling other regulatory requirements.
  • Completion of Wealth Management Essentials (post-licensing requirement).
