Job Description

Role Summary

The Director of Global Mobility will lead OpenText's global mobility program, ensuring seamless movement of employees across international borders. This role requires a strategic thinker with in-depth knowledge of global mobility policies, immigration laws, and tax compliance across multiple regions and countries.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and Execute Global Mobility Strategy

Develop and execute a global mobility strategy aligned with business goals and talent objectives, ensuring compliance with legal, tax, and immigration requirements.

Oversee International Assignments

Oversee the entire process for international assignments, including assignment planning, cost projections, and repatriation.

Improve Processes and Programs

Continuously evaluate and improve current processes and programs to enhance efficiency, enabling the team to focus on strategic, value-added work.

Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team

Lead and develop a high-performing team, providing opportunities for cross-functional projects and regional collaboration.

Ensure Compliance and Tax Planning

Ensure compliance with immigration laws and regulations, working with external tax advisors to manage tax compliance and planning for international assignments.

Manage External Relationships

Manage relationships with external service providers, including tax advisors, immigration attorneys, and global payroll vendors, ensuring vendor performance and contract execution.

Maintain Accurate Records

Maintain accurate records of all international assignments and relocations, utilizing technology to streamline processes and improve data accuracy.

Develop and Present Reports

Develop and present reports on global mobility metrics, including cost analysis, assignment status, and compliance updates.

Requirements

  1. Education

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's Degree is preferred.

Experience

10-12 years of experience in global mobility or a related HR function, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.

Skills and Abilities

Proficiency in data analysis using Excel to drive meaningful business decisions, advanced communication skills, and strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Personal Qualities

Strategic thinker with problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, adaptability and cultural sensitivity, essential for success in a global role.
