Montreal, Quebec, Canada Speculative Application Full time

Speculative Application specializes in the production and sale of high-quality bakery, pastry, and charcuterie items using traditional methods and premium ingredients. Our team consists of over 1,200 dedicated individuals, and we operate more than 20 locations across Quebec and Ontario.

We are currently seeking a Retail Operations Manager .

In this role, you will oversee the efficient operation of all retail activities, enhance store profitability, manage personnel, and ensure compliance with quality standards, merchandising, visual presentation, hygiene, sanitation, occupational health and safety, and human resources policies established by Speculative Application and relevant government regulations. Additionally, you will be expected to perform tasks assigned to Assistant Managers, Team Leaders, Sales Associates, and Cleaning Staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, direct, and manage all retail operations (including purchasing, inventory management, cashiering, and cost control).
  • Supervise staff (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and oversight).
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered by all staff members.
  • Foster professional relationships with customers through effective communication and service.
  • Guarantee adherence to product marketing, quality, hygiene, and sanitation standards set by Speculative Application.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations among staff.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Comprehensive understanding of retail food operations or restaurant management (knowledge of revenue and cost structures)
  • Relevant expertise in sales strategies, customer service, and human resources management
  • Proficiency in French - Required
  • English proficiency is a plus
  • Organized, energetic leader with a focus on customer satisfaction, results, and teamwork
  • High level of independence
  • Strong adherence to standards and regulations
  • Punctuality is essential
