Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food Services Supervisor to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our Food Services department, you will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of our food services, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the preparation and delivery of patient meals, guest meals, and catering events
  • Manage staff schedules, attendance, and payroll
  • Interview and hire staff as needed
  • Develop and implement strategies for healthy eating and revenue generation
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations
Requirements
  • Food Service Technology course or equivalent required
  • Graduate of a 4-year nutrition degree preferred
  • Food Handlers course and WHMIS an asset
  • Excellent leadership, team building, and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication, accuracy, and organizational skills
  • Proven skills in customer service
  • Superior supervision and decision-making skills
  • Competencies in other languages are considered an asset
