Job Title: Assistant Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor to join our faculty in the Department of Geography and Planning at the University of Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and conducting research in the area of housing, community, and economic development.

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
  • Teach core and elective courses in the graduate planning program, including joint Geography-Planning courses
  • Conduct research in the area of housing, community, and economic development
  • Supervise graduate students and lead the economic development concentration in the MScPl program
  • Provide service within the University and to broader academic and professional communities
Requirements:
  • Ph.D. degree in Planning or a closely related field
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching
  • Strong grasp of quantitative methodologies and ability to use these methods in research, practice, and teaching
  • Experience in teaching and research in the area of housing, community, and economic development
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) with the requisite Registered Professional Planner designation
  • Professional experience in the applicant's area of expertise
