Job Title: Assistant Professor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Assistant Professor to join our Finance Area at the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto. The successful candidate will be appointed to a tenure stream position and will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest level.

About the Position

The Finance Area at the Rotman School of Management is a leading research-oriented faculty that is committed to excellence in both research and teaching. We are seeking a candidate who has a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching, with a focus on finance and a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities
  • Pursue innovative and independent research at the highest level, with a focus on finance and a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, with a focus on integrating both theory and practice.
  • Supervise graduate students and provide mentorship to junior faculty members.
  • Contribute to the development of the Finance Area's research and teaching programs.
Requirements
  • PhD degree in finance or a cognate discipline with a focus on finance (e.g. economics) by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter.
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching, with a focus on finance and a strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to integrate both theory and practice.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to the development of the Finance Area's research and teaching programs.
