Director, Policy and Inuit Employment

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Inuit Employment and Policy to join our team at Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of policies related to Inuit employment and training, ensuring that the commitments to full representative levels of Inuit employment workforces in Nunavut are effectively met.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement policies and programs to achieve the objective of Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement
- Conduct research and analysis to inform policy recommendations
- Collaborate with other departments and staff to implement the May 4, 2015 Settlement Agreement with the Government of Canada and Nunavut
- Oversee the effective management of the Mikigiaqta Inuit Training Corporation and its associated funding
- Develop and manage project budgets and financial plans
- Provide leadership and guidance to staff on policy development and implementation
- Experience in developing and managing complex projects and budgets
- Experience in financial management, legislation, audit, and evaluation
- Good understanding of employee recruitment and planning systems
- Experience in mentorship, coaching, and training
- Experience in managing projects and teams
- Good research and analysis skills
- Fluency in Inuktut is an asset
