Job Summary:
The Gabriel Dumont Institute is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to provide academic support to students in the La Loche ABE programs. As an Academic Support Specialist, you will work closely with students, providing one-on-one support and assistance during classroom hours. Your subject matter expertise will include Communications, Math, Social Sciences, Science, Lifeworks, English Language Arts A30, B30, Biology, and Native Studies at the grade 10 – 12 levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students, addressing their academic needs and concerns.
- Assist students in developing their academic skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management.
- Collaborate with instructors to ensure seamless support and communication with students.
- Develop and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum grade 12 diploma.
- Experience working with adult learners is an asset.
- Preferred: Educational Assistant certificate.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work with diverse groups.
