We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our Bakery Department at Metro Inc. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store, including purchasing, inventory management, cost control, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing the operations of the Bakery Department, including managing staff, inventory, and customer service.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that customers receive a positive experience.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and implement sales strategies and promotions.
- Manage the inventory and ordering of bakery products, ensuring that stock levels are maintained and that products are rotated regularly.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Assist with the recruitment, training, and development of bakery staff.
- Ensure that all bakery staff are aware of and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Monitor and control costs, including labor, inventory, and supplies.
- Assist with the maintenance of the bakery department, including cleaning and sanitation.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in a bakery or retail environment.
- Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
