About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installation Specialist to join our team at Northcity Drywall Ltd. as a Drywall Finisher and Installer. This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to ensure a smooth finish.
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and maintain a high-quality finish.
  • Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place in panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife.
  • Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets to meet the needs of our clients.
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists to ensure a sturdy installation.
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry to achieve a professional finish.
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a seamless finish.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to work at heights, in a dusty and noisy environment. You will be working on various commercial and residential projects, often in different locations.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in drywall installation and finishing.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and handle heavy loads.
  • Flexibility and reliability.
  • Dependability and a client-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
Language and Work Term

This role requires fluency in English and a permanent work term.
