About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Drywall Installer and Finisher to join our team at Goodline Drywall Ltd. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish
  • Install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners and fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for plastering and mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency
  • Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster to create a durable and attractive finish
  • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit
  • Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound to create a strong bond
  • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
  • Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages to complete tasks safely and efficiently
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the trade
  • Ability to work at heights and in a physically demanding environment
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Experience working with drywall and plastering
