About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cleaning Specialist to join our team at BGIS. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain floors, walls, and other surfaces using various cleaning equipment and solutions.
  • Operate floor maintenance machines, cleaning equipment, and materials to ensure a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Strip, seal, and finish floors as needed to maintain their appearance and extend their lifespan.
  • Remove snow and debris from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas using snowplows, snow blowers, or snow shovels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.

Requirements:

  • Experience in performing various cleaning, housekeeping, and maintenance activities in an institutionalized environment.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work, including WHMIS.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy items, as well as climb ladders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and the general public.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and shifts as assigned, as well as work in multiple locations.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
