The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Development Officer, Events & Fundraising to join our Community Engagement team. This is a full-time position that will play a key role in managing the development, planning, and execution of signature golf tournaments and other events, as well as providing sponsorship support for Trillium Health Partners events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage annual plans, revenue and expense forecasts for events
  • Develop sponsorship grids and oversee the development of solicitation materials and pitch decks
  • Manage pipelines for sponsors and participants across the organization
  • Support leadership with donor meetings and pitches
  • Create new and innovative approaches to fundraising to maximize revenue at events
  • Work with hospital leads to develop plans and sponsorship pipelines for Trillium Health Partners events
  • Own the pipeline and raise revenue by securing marketplace vendors at events
  • Facilitate the growth of the portfolio through prospecting, networking, and relationship building

Event Management

  • Develop annual plans, event elements, and participant experiences
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans and critical paths for golf tournaments
  • Manage vendor negotiations and technical and logistical management for golf tournaments
  • Develop marketing and communication strategies, creative, and collateral for golf tournaments
  • Prepare briefing and speaking notes for executives and celebrities
  • Responsible for participant stewardship and post-event surveys
  • Lead event auctions, including management of the silent auction committee, gift in kind solicitation, and procurement

Volunteer and Committee Management

  • Lead recruitment and management of event volunteers
  • Lead and manage volunteer golf committees
  • Actively participate in event committees and manage marketplace vendors and silent auction donors

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in event fundraising or event development
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field of study
  • Knowledge of special events, sponsorship, community fundraising, volunteer engagement, and donor engagement
  • Experience developing relationships with volunteer committees and volunteer leaders
  • Experience with gift in kind tax receipting rules and requirements
  • Strong interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and the capacity to communicate at all levels with confidence and influence
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to determine work priorities and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Technical Skills

  • Strong analytical skills and business acumen
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
  • Donor/client database experience (Raiser's Edge experience preferred)
  • Experience with Luminate Online, TeamRaiser, WordPress, and Givergy
  • Experience/knowledge of digital advertising

Work Environment

  • Willingness to work flexible hours and to tight deadlines as needed
  • Hybrid work schedule with one day in the office
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle an asset
