POSITION SUMMARY

The Evaluation Consultant plays a pivotal role in overseeing both internal and external institutional assessments. This position entails managing the internal evaluation processes, providing support and reporting, and leading the technical execution of student course evaluations. The consultant is responsible for ensuring effective participation in institutional surveys and managing internal assessment tools. Collaboration with relevant stakeholders is essential, as the consultant serves as the primary liaison for external survey initiatives and represents the institution at system-level committees.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • System Administration Leadership: Directs timelines, milestones, resource allocation, deliverables, and effort estimation for course evaluation periods, ensuring smooth transitions and adjustments as needed.
  • Strategic Direction: Guides the technical implementation and workflow of course evaluations, including planning, refining processes, anticipating challenges, analyzing resources, and consulting with key academic administrators to deliver actionable recommendations.
  • Supervision: Provides direct oversight to Research Associates and/or Learning Analysts, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Vendor Liaison: Engages with system vendors and internal technology teams to address system issues, manage upgrades, and prioritize system needs based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Stakeholder Advisory: Regularly communicates with internal stakeholders, monitoring analytics related to student course evaluations while managing the online evaluation system.
  • Collaboration: Works closely with various offices, including the Provost Office and Registrar's Office, to facilitate the implementation, collection, review, verification, and organization of course evaluation data.
  • User Experience Management: Oversees user requirements and experiences for course evaluation tools, collaborating with stakeholders to support departmental implementation processes.
  • Data Oversight: Manages the collection, analysis, and dissemination of course evaluation data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Performance Reviews: Coordinates administrative performance evaluations at the request of senior executives.
  • Training and Leadership: Provides guidance and training to staff on procedures, reporting, and technology, including performance evaluation processes.
QUALIFICATIONS

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • University degree in a relevant field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of related experience, including at least two years in evaluation systems administration or technical support.
  • Proven experience in managing student course evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of assessment methodologies and course evaluation processes.
  • Exceptional online systems administration capabilities.
  • Outstanding customer service, interpersonal, teamwork, and mentorship skills.
  • Excellent project management, analytical reasoning, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise mature judgment, diplomacy, and discretion.
  • Competence in understanding and applying institutional policies and procedures.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated capability to supervise and coordinate the work of others.
  • Strong diplomatic, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven project management experience, including the ability to set realistic goals and timelines and work independently to achieve them.
