2K is seeking an experienced Senior Rendering Engineer to contribute to the development of our stylized game. In this role, you will oversee a team of Graphics Programmers while collaborating closely with concept artists, Art Directors, and fellow engineers to enhance Unreal Engine 5 in alignment with our creative vision. Your responsibilities will include modifying essential shaders, creating innovative rendering technologies, and integrating third-party solutions to address rendering challenges. Join us in crafting unique systems for world and character rendering in the BioShock universe.

Position Overview:

We are in search of a leader to guide and mentor our expanding team of Graphics Programmers.

  • Strategize, organize, and implement creative technical solutions based on artistic direction and concept art.
  • Develop new tools and systems to realize comprehensive artistic visions.
  • Innovate solutions to leverage offline third-party tools, such as Houdini, and effectively integrate their data into the runtime.
  • Communicate effectively and manage team members towards efficient solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary partners to ensure the project's creative vision is achieved.
  • Identify and establish best practices, workflows, and pipelines that elevate the quality standards for your team.
  • Mentor and support fellow engineers in enhancing their skill sets.
  • Conduct research and gather information prior to initiating new tasks to ensure all technological needs are met.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and techniques, evaluate competitive products, and learn new software packages to improve skill sets.
  • Provide constructive feedback to internal staff and external partners based on project requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience in shipping multiple AAA titles on Unreal Engine for console and PC.
  • Previous leadership experience as a graphics or rendering programmer.
  • Strong proficiency in 3D mathematics.
  • Extensive experience with C/C++ programming.
  • Familiarity with modern GPUs on the latest gaming platforms.
  • Solid understanding of Unreal Engine 4 or 5 from a graphics perspective.
  • Exposure to third-party tools like Houdini, Substance Painter, and Z-Brush in relation to graphics pipelines.
  • Ability to research, analyze, and optimize code to meet performance standards.
  • Capacity to work independently and efficiently under reasonable deadlines.
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership abilities, with a commitment to fostering communication and collaboration across disciplines.
  • A proactive work ethic focused on teamwork and dynamism.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and adaptable to the needs of a fast-paced organization.
